INTRODUCTION
Kung Fu Masters of the Zodiac: Origins of the Twelve is the prequel to Kung Fu Masters of the Zodiac, also presented by Fantawild Animation Inc. In Origins, twelve special animals go from rag-tag strangers to Heaven’s own “earthly task force”. In Kung Fu Masters of the Zodiac, their adventures continue as they help a boy-warrior to vanquish The Year Devil—and each gains a place on the Chinese lunar calendar.

Kung Fu Masters of the Zodiac: Origins of the Twelve targets kids from 8 to16 years of age. Origins is rooted in Chinese folklore, and it retains the high-octane martial-arts action that characterized Kung Fu Masters of the Zodiac. Origins features the exploits of twelve heroic contenders for the celestial assignment of “Keeper of the Earth”. This 3D animated wonder, like its predecessor, is brimming with excitement, humor, and imagination.
PLOT SUMMARY
When the Celestial Emperor is overwhelmed by the multitude of issues affecting the earthly plane, the Celestial Empress suggests forging twelve mighty heroes to help ease the daily burden of management. The Kitchen God—the “hearth-and-home” deity familiar with the workings of earthly life—is appointed to preside over the candidate-selection process, with help from Celestial Watchmen Aquila and Sonar.
Once the royal edict is posted, animals from all across China begin the trek to the legendary Mount Tai to compete in “The Keeper Tournament”.
PLOT SUMMARY
Among these animals are the rat; ox; tiger; rabbit; dragon; snake; horse; ram; monkey; rooster; dog; and the boar. They are a motley lot with wildly varying degrees of integrity and ambition, but the journey to Mount Tai plants the seed for each one’s eventual commitment to the heroic kung fu ideal.
After emerging victorious in the rigorous Keeper Tournament at Mount Tai, each of The Twelve gains the title of “Keeper of the Earth”.
Kung Fu Masters of the Zodiac: Origins of the Twelve is a 3D Animated Series with 52 episodes. With widely differing backgrounds, skills, and motivations, contestants from throughout China travel all the way to Mount Tai to enter the The Keeper Tournament. As these grueling trials unfold, twelve quite disparate competitors prove unbeatable. Ultimately, they are named Keepers of the Earth.
